A-1 Tech Support is currently looking for Independent Contractors with strong skills in the following areas:

Junior Client/Server Windows Tech Support Specialist
Miami Beach / Miami / Downtown / Design District

Are you a skilled, resourceful and pro-active windows tech support specialist looking for interesting challenges providing tech support to small businesses in the Miami area?

We are a family-owned, South-Beach-based tech support company providing independent (no hardware or software selling/reselling) tech support and focus on building long-term, full service (i.e., covering advice on and support of hardware, software, networking, business process improvement, web site design, etc.) relationships with our customers.

We are looking for an impeccably honest, well-trained, talented, friendly and energetic tech support specialist with strong Windows peer-to-peer and growing client/server networking, software and hardware troubleshooting skills and experience, strong documentation and excellent problem solving skills and a can-do attitude; to add to our team.

You may already hold MCSE, MCSA, CompTIA, MCTS or similar certifications, or be working towards them. Good written and spoken English required, other language skills, e.g., Spanish, welcome. Strong Desktop OS skills (Windows XP and Vista), and networking (routers, switches, PDAs/Cell phones, etc.) and major application program (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) skills required; along with growing client/server (SBS, Server, Exchange, ISA, etc.) networking skills. Mac skills also welcome along with any experience with collaboration software (e.g., SharePoint, WebEx, etc).

Absolute reliability in promptly responding to calls/email/IM; honoring appointments to provide onsite and/or remote support and promptly completing customer ticket resolution documentation in our CRM system, are all required; along with your own all-weather transport, a cell phone, a laptop with IM access; and the ability to work flexible hours (including occasional nights and weekends when needed).

This is an independent contractor position. We pay competitive hourly rates, determined based on your skills, experience and industry certifications. We offer a friendly collegiate atmosphere, with the opportunity to grow with our company, handling a growing volume of interesting work with a cross-section of small business users. You will also have the opportunity to enhance your client/server skills through hand-on experience working with our senior networking specialists on more challenging client/server implementations/issues.

And as our aim is to develop long term relationships, you could subsequently be offered a full time position, depending upon how well you serve our customers and work with our CRM system (including adding to our knowledge base and customer documentation) and our team - with opportunities available in tech support, account management and new business development.

Insurance Industry (TAM) Software Specialist
Miami Beach / Miami / Downtown / Design District

We are looking for a specialist who is very familiar with Applied System's TAM ("The Agency Manager") insurance agency practice management software, to work with us servicing our small business client base in this industry sector.

This is an independent contractor position.

We are looking for someone who not only has good technical skills but is also a good communicator/able to communicate well with non-technical people, and who loves learning new things and sharing his/her wisdom with the rest of the team. Spanish proficiency would be an asset as well.

Lastly, honesty and integrity and a sense of humor are also very important.
